CSS white-space Values and Hyphenation

twantzen
Dear all,

I tried to use
white-space: pre-wrap
for an input field, to preserve new lines and spaces, so someone can see and correct wrong new lines and double spaces. Sadly, pre-wrap seems to kill hyphenation.

Can I use pre-wrap AND hyphenation? What do I have to do?

Thanks
Tobias

Which version of Prince are you using and what style have you applied?

I am getting hyphenation in this test document:
<p style="width: 2in; border: solid red thin; white-space: pre-wrap; hyphens: auto">
hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation
</p>
<p style="width: 2in; border: solid red thin; white-space: pre-line; hyphens: auto">
hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation hyphenation
</p>

Thanks for testing. We use Prince 9, but yesterday I got the note, that we’ll upgrade to 12. Good to know, that this will be off of my list ...
