Forum How do I...?

Convert or output to CMYK

michaelk
hello

I have some (rgb + alpha) issues with pdf on print

so I need to convert my RGD pdf to CMYK and I saw this otpion :

--pdf-output-intent=ISOcoated_v2_300_eci.icc
Does "ISOcoated_v2_300_eci.icc" need to be a file path to the icc file ?
Does it convert each rgb jpg and png to CMYK ?

I also see that option
--device-cmyk-profile ... maybe this one is the good one to have a CMYK pdf ?

thanks

The --pdf-output-intent option takes a path to an ICC file, yes. Prince includes several commonly used color profiles in the icc/ folder of the Prince installation.

However, you will need to download the latest build (20160929) we have just released today which also includes a new --convert-colors option which will convert all the colors and images to the specified output intent color profile.

(You can also specify a PDF/X-1a output profile with the --pdf-profile option, which has the side-effect of forcing conversion to CMYK).

I will try latest build (20160929) on ubuntu and --convert-colors

Thanks
