Header / Footer on landscape pages

pkj
Hi,

When you swap a page to landscape, the header/footers also swap orientation so that they run along the long edge instead of the short edge.

Is there a way to keep them along the short edge on landscape pages?

No, not at the moment. You could switch to using @left and @right for those pages rather than @top and @bottom, but the text would still have the same orientation as the text in the rest of the page. (Note that the @left and @right margin boxes are available in the latest alpha version of Prince 6.0, but not in Prince 5.1).

Mike,

Is this something you will consider for a future release?

I see a lot of published documents that keep the portrait header and footer when the page swaps to landscape.

I have added this to the development roadmap:
Add a mechanism to control the orientation of page headers/footers on landscape pages. (Perhaps a new CSS property for @page rules, or a new keyword for the @page size property).

Eight years on, we have released Prince 10! Which includes a new @page property called prince-rotate-body which can be used to create landscape pages more conveniently. :)
