I have to handle very wide tables in my document and reduce their width with "prince-shrink-to-fit" while putting them on a page of their own. This works, but unfortunately the shrink factor is used then for all later pages and is not resetted on the next page.

Can this be considered as a bug? Or are there other ways to deal with items that are bigger than the page width?

You could shrink them down using CSS transforms.
