So, I attempted to install Prince 8.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 (32-bit), which perhaps I should not have done. Installation went through, but then when I ran Prince I got the error message:

"error while loading shared libraries: libtiff.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

I Googled and found that maybe Ubuntu 14 doesn't support that library, so I deleted the folders where 8.1 had installed itself, then I downloaded the Ubuntu 14.04-compatible version of Prince, and installed it. But, I got the same error again when I ran Prince ("error while loading shared libraries: libgif.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory").

Help?

Can you try "sudo apt-get install libgif4" ?

That worked! I think. But now it is saying my license is inapplicable for this version

Perhaps it is time for an upgrade.

Arranging that now.
