I am using this settings for normal paragraphs:
p { hyphens: auto; prince-hyphenate-lines: 3;}

however, I found some cases where there were 4 successive hyphens. Is that normal?

Sometimes it is unavoidable if the alternatives would produce unacceptable line breaks. But Prince will try hard to avoid it.
