Prince cannot natively read PDF or EPS for embedding, only SVG is supported as a vector graphics format. It would be nice to support them, but they are large and complicated formats, so it will not be easy or quick. We would recommend the use of SVG, or the use of another processing tool for embedding PDF files within PDF files generated by Prince.

any new plans so far to integrate .eps? Clients are delivering a lot of eps which we can convert to svg, but it has not always the best results.

Not yet. It is more likely that we would implement PDF import, but even that will take some time. For now, SVG is still the best choice, and we have improved SVG support in the latest builds.
