I have noticed that there is some line of spaces available between the border of the page content and the footer content...with the increment of the bottom margin, the line of spaces also increased...how do i make use of that space...

It might help to add some background-color to @page, @bottom, etc. to see exactly where the boundaries of these errors are.

The footer is vertically centred, so you can make @bottom smaller by decreasing page margin-bottom, or apply vertical-align: top to the footer.
