When you have a footnote at the page bottom then there is a conflict.

If you add the footnote text then the line containing the footnote caller is bumped to next page.

If it doesn't get bumped then the footnote text gets bumped to next page. [Prince behavior]

This can be fixed by adjusting the tracking on a previous paragraph. Is there anything automatic that Prince can handle here? Is there a CSS setting? Or is this something requiring human intervention?

This is a tricky problem that currently requires human intervention. Adjusting the tracking of paragraphs to obtain certain page break outcomes is a very difficult problem in general.

I thought that might be the case. Thanks. At least I have a working solution for the problem then.
